Author of THE CANYON CRAWL, a murder mystery based on a true story. Jeff and Nick, recently turned sixty, hike to Phantom Ranch, a ghost town hidden somewhere at the bottom of Grand Canyon. With backpacks, hiking sticks, little sense and a whole lot of naiveté, they headed down to Phantom Ranch from the South Rim in the dead of Winter. They were configured for misadventure and that’s exactly what they got. This site is the photo companion to the book. Images appear here in the order they were shot on the hike and ends abruptly at Indian Garden where it got dark, the most treacherous stretch remaining above.
